When it comes to bathroom designs, I love them made with natural raw materials such as ceramic tiles, concrete, marble and wood. My dreamy bathroom is to be bathed in natural light, spacious with a modern sleek look. If like me you dream of a minimalist bathroom, here is a bit of inspiration.
Our house in Singapore was built in the eighties. It is spacious and confortable, but not modern and sleek as recently built condos or houses are. Our bathrooms for instance are looking quite old-fashioned. They are covered with light grey and tea-rose pink-ish square tiles all over. And built-in cupboards are covered with faux-acajou in dark green shades. I know, it does not look pretty. Now you understand better why I am writing this blog post.
For years now I have been imagining the kind of bathroom I would design if it was my own house. Have you thought about yours too? What would your ideal bathroom look like ? To me, a bathroom is a cosy sanctuary where you can enjoy time for yourself and relax.
My dreamy bathroom is:
- to be bathed in natural light, a lot of light. If possible, no neon lights. I would also add one or two plant pots;
- as spacious as possible. No two-square meter shower room like the ones you find in big cities please. Space. Space to move around without hurting yourself, space to store bath linens and accessories;
- with a modern sleek look. Natural raw materials such as ceramic tile, concrete, marble and wood are perfect to help you creating a minimalist bathroom.
Now we will not be moving out of our house for months. So the only thing I can do is dreaming, planning, imagining… I have found pictures of 8 minimalist bathrooms on Pinterest to get me and you inspired.
