To celebrate the end of the year, I’ve asked a few chefs and celebrity chefs to see whether they would like to collaborate with me on a special dining feature. For this feature, the Chefs cook one or two of their signature dishes and serve them using my selection of dinnerware from my store.
And (lucky me!) these Chefs agreed to dedicate some of their busy time and cook beautifully coloured and tasteful dishes. Based on the dishes themselves, I selected the appropriate dinnerware, glassware, and table decorations to create these beautiful images below. I hope you enjoy these inspiring pictures!
#Guest Chef No. 1
Now, I am pleased to introduce my very first guest: Japanese Top Chef Kentaro Torii.
Even though Chef Kentaro is Japanese, he cooks Italian specialties at restaurant Forlino, located at One Fullerton Singapore. For this feature, he whipped up a few amazing Japanese dishes.
Myself and Chef Kentaro chose a blue Japanese design for the dinnerware. The plates, bowls and mugs are decorated with what looks like hand-painted lines with dots. The glasses and carafe are blue to match the blue pattern of the plates. Decorative objects have been added to bring an elegant and unique touch. The overall look is minimalist and casually elegant.
Here are the names of Japanese dishes that were prepared by Chef Kentaro Torii, as well as the images:
“Cured Hamachi Carpaccio, Daikon, Caviar, Karashi Mayonaise | 鰤のカルパッチョ 大根 キャビア からしマヨネーズ”
“Somen Salad, Mizuna, Karasumi, Wakame, Yuzu Ponzu Dressing | 素麺サラダ 水菜 唐墨 若布 柚子ポン酢ドレッシング”
The dinner and dessert plates, bowls and mugs I selected are from the “Skagen String” Stoneware Collection by Broste Copenhagen.
You can take a look at the selected decorative accents such as the ‘Aiko’ candlesticks, on www.stylodeco.com.
